AllSpamAway
Congratulations! You just got a
small big tool.
AllSpamAway
saves you time, keeps your computer safe, and shows you only the messages that
matter. All of this with minimum or no effort from your part.
Because
time is money, it would be good for you to spend 15 minutes reading this user
manual. It will save you many hours and days cleaning spam, viruses and other
junk e-mails.
You can try AllSpamAway for free
in every sense of the word. Your computer and software run no risk installing
it.
AllSpamAway
is an Add-Inn to Outlook; you can disable it from Outlook or uninstall it
altogether.
Once
AllSpamAway is uninstalled your system will be restored as if you have never
installed it. We are confident you will not last long without re-installing it.
AllSpamAway successfully keeps all
spam, spoof and viruses away
Usually,
anti-spam software requires the user to manage the sender’s e-mail addresses,
by manually selecting which e-mails are spam and which are friendly.
Unfortunately, many spammers use a different address each time they send you
spam, avoiding any blocks that you might have put on one particular address.
This keeps you busy deciding whom to block.
AllSpamAway
eliminates the need to block spam altogether because it treats any new address
as spam until proved to be friendly. With AllSpamAway installed in your
Outlook, all e-mails arriving from new addresses will be placed on the
AllSpamAway folder and the e-mail address will be added to the Away List. At
the same time, a Sender’s Verification E-mail (VE) containing a unique code
will be sent to all new sender addresses, and the date will be stamped in the
Away/Pending list. For the sender’s e-mails to gain access to your inbox, the
sender just needs to reply to the VE within the pre-determined time period set
by the user. When the Reply E-mail with the same code arrives to your inbox, it
is checked against the Away/Pending List. If it matches, all the sender’s
e-mails in the AllSpamAway folder are moved to the inbox, and his address is
also moved to the Show List. Future e-mails from this address will be placed in
your Inbox. If necessary, you can manually move any e-mail address to the Show
or Away lists. Addresses manually moved will stay where they were moved to.
Set up the e-mail accounts for
which you want e-mails to be processed through AllSpamAway
For
Outlook Express how to process e-mails can be selected from the setup screen.
For
Outlook, e-mails that arrive through accounts that have not been set up with
AllSpamAway will not be processed, unless the sender’s address is in the Away
List.
This
feature allows different control of different accounts under the same e-mail
client and protection software.
All e-mail addresses in the Away
List will be treated as spam
With no
exception, senders’ e-mail addresses in the Away list will always be sent to
the Away folder, even if they arrive through an account that has not been set
up with AllSpamAway. In this way, if you do not want to receive e-mails from a
particular address, you can add it manually to the Away list using the
appropriate icon on the AllSpamAway menu bar.
All e-mail addresses in the Show
List will be treated as friendly
You can
let the senders do the job or you can add addresses manually to the Show List
When an e-mail from that address arrives, it will be left in the Inbox or it
will follow the outlook message rules as you set them up.
Only e-mails in the Inbox are
processed
Only
e-mails that arrive to the inbox folder will be processed. If there are outlook
message rules, messages that follow those rules will not be processed.
AllSpamAway and Outlook message
rules
If you
created a rule to move e-mails to a certain folder when they arrive on your
inbox, the rule will usually be first applied. Only remaining e-mails in the inbox
will be processed by AllSpamAway.
Priorities
E-mail
addresses in the Show and Away lists have priority over domains in such lists
Example:
Arriving
e-mails from nameaway@domainshow.com,
which is in the Away List, will go to the Away folder although domainshow.com
is in the Show list.
Arriving
e-mails from nameshow@domainaway.com,
which is in the show list, will remain in the Inbox folder although
domainaway.com is in the Away List.
Auto responders
E-mail
addresses in the "From:" or "Reply to:" fields sent from
spammers usually do not exist as spammers avoid receiving too much e-mail in
their mailboxes and being localized. Some seldom use an auto responder. In this
case, their e-mail will show in your Inbox and their address will be listed in
the Show List.
Simply
click on their e-mail and then click on the AllSpamAway Icon to send their
address to the Away List. All their e-mails in the Inbox will be moved to the
Away folder and future e-mails from them will be processed and moved
automatically to the Away Folder.
On the
other hand, companies usually have existing e-mail addresses with auto
responders or a person that will check arriving e-mails. These will answer the
Verification E-mails.
What if your recipient is also
using AllSpamAway?
It is a
good idea to add all the e-mail addresses that you send e-mails to in the Show
List, otherwise, if your recipient has AllSpamAway installed, his AllSpamAway
will place your e-mail in his Away folder and will send you an E-mail
Verification. Since you do not have his address in the Show List, your
AllSpamAway will place his address in the Away/pending verification List and
his e-mail verification in the Away Folder, the end result being that none of
you will be able to see the other’s e-mail.
Compatibility
Software:
This
version of AllSpamAway works only with Outlook Express, Outlook 2002/2003 XP
and Outlook 2007. Your system must be running Windows XP.
Hardware:
At least
40 MB of free hard disk space and 128 MB of memory must be available. Pentium,
Celeron or compatible processor is recommended.
Installing AllSpamAway
1. Close
Outlook and disconnect any device that synchronizes with it, like a pocket pc
or palm device.
2. Run
the AllSpamAway installer, and follow the on-screen instructions. Note:
AllSpamAway must be in the same language as your Outlook or it might not work
properly or at all.
3. Start
Outlook and then connect any device that will synchronize.
4. You
will notice that the AllSpamAway menu bar appears below the usual Outlook
menus.
Setting up the e-mail accounts to
be watched by AllSpamAway
You need
to setup the accounts that you want AllSpamAway to process arriving e-mails
from.
If you have
an account forwarded to an address that points to your inbox, you must setup
the account to which people send.
Example: name@forwardedaccount.com is
forwarded to your@account.com. Although
the final e-mail arrives to your inbox through your@account.com,
you must setup name@forwardedaccount.com
in order to be processed by the software. You can use the SMTP server, username
and password that you use for your@account.com
- Click on the icon to open the
setup window.
- Fill in the fields with the
correct information for each e-mail account that you want AllSpamAway to
watch.
ü
Account
name: any name to recognize that account.
ü
E-mail
address: the actual e-mail address for that account
ü
SMTP
server: same settings as you are using in Outlook.
ü
Check
the box if your server requires Authentication and fill in the username and
password fields.
- Test the settings. Wait until
you receive the feedback from your server to ensure that the account is
setup correctly.
Settings for popular web mails if
you set them up as POP3
Hotmail:
- Enter an account name
- Enter your hotmail e-mail
address
- SMTP Server information: mail.hotmail.com
- Do not check for
authentication, as it is not required.
Hotmail
cannot be set up as a POP3 account, so AllSpamAway will have no effect on
Hotmail accounts.
Yahoo:
- Enter an account name
- Enter your yahoo e-mail
address
3.
Server Information
- SMTP Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
- Check the box next to "My outgoing server
(SMTP) requires authentication."
- Check Require Authentication
- User Name: Enter your Yahoo!
ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com").
- Password: Enter your Yahoo!
password.
Gmail and other unsupported e-mail accounts:
Although this version of AllSpamAway is not
compatible with SSL or encrypted connection, it is still possible to filter all
the spam coming to your gmail account if you have
another e-mail account that you can use to send the Verification E-mails.
- Type in yourname@gmail.com in E-mail address
(this is the e-mail address that your sender will see when receiving the
Verification e-mail)
- Use any account that requires
authorization and enter your username and password for that account in the
fields Username and Password.
When
AllSpamAway receives e-mail through the account yourname@gmail.com, it will be processed,
and although another account will be used to send the VE, the person receiving
it will see and reply to yourname@gmail.com.
General Setup
Delete e-mails in the Away folder
if sender did not reply after the predetermined amount of days.
You
decide how many days you grant senders that have not yet replied to the VE’s before deleting their e-mails in order to maintain an
adequate number in the AllSpamAway folder.
AllSpamAway
deletes e-mails from senders that haven’t been authorized every time outlook is
opened. You will see “Status: Cleaning AllSpamAway Folder” in the AllSpamAway
menu bar. All e-mails older than the preset days will be deleted in the
AllSpamAway folder.
You can
clean the AllSpamAway folder in the same way if click on the trash can icon on
the AllSpamAway menu bar.
Allow VE re-send after Away
messages have been deleted
When this
option is checked, AllSpamAway will delete the sender’s address from the Away
list when their e-mail is older than the days you determined. If a new e-mail
is received from this sender, a new Verification Email will be sent, giving him
a new opportunity to reply and add his address in your Show list.
If this option
is not checked, no new Verification E-mails will be sent to addresses in the
Away list when new e-mails from the same senders arrive. All e-mails arriving
from these addresses will be placed in the Away folder and will be deleted
after the days you determined passed.
Addresses
added manually to the Away List, will remain in the Away list. The sender will
not receive any further VE's and all of his e-mails
will remain in the Away folder until deleted.
Delete verification e-mails when
they arrive
Bear in
mind that some people might add text to their VE replies. If you automatically
delete those e-mails you will not be able to read those texts.
Adding e-mail addresses to the
Show list when you send them an e-mail
Pick the option
you prefer. However, take into account that if the person that you are sending
an e-mail to is using AllSpamAway and you do not place his address in the show
list, your e-mail might be placed in his AllSpamAway Folder. In this case, you
would receive this person’s Verification E-mail, which will be placed in your
Away folder because he or she is not in your Show List. This person will then
receive a VE from you, which will also be placed in his Away folder. As a
consequence neither of you will be able to see the other’s e-mail in the Inbox.
How do
you want to process the received messages, for Outlook Express only
Process all received messages: as said, all received
messages will be processed regardless if the message is directed to a
configured address or not. If the received message contains one of the
configured accounts in the To field, the verification
e-mail will be sent for this same account. If the received message does not
contain one of the configured addresses in the To
field, the verification e-mail will be sent through the first configured
account.
If your selection is “Process only messages with any
of my configured accounts in the To field” only those
messages will be processed. If the received message contains any of the
configured addresses in the CC or the BCC fields, or it appears within a group,
it will not be processed.
Text to send as body of every
Verification Email
Once you
have bought your license you will be able to change the body of the message in
each Verification E-mail.
Use a
short message, in the languages that most of your sender’s will understand to
make them reply the VE if they want their messages to get to you.
Example:
Hi, I am YOURNAME this is a sender verification
e-mail from my new software, AllspamAway. This message
is important for you and for me. Please reply to it and I will be able to read
all your e-mails.
Hola, soy SUNOMBRE este es un
e-mail que mi nuevo software AllSpamAway envía para verificar el e-mail que me
enviaste. Es importante para ti y para mi. Por favor responde a este mensaje para que
yo pueda leer todos tus e-mails.
English:
This is the way AllSpamAway works:
If you reply to this e-mail I will be able to read
all of your messages and your e-mail address will be added to my contact list.
If you do not reply within 3 days, all your messages
will be permanently deleted. Sorry, but I do not accept any more spam.
Since I'm using AllSpamAway software I receive only
what matters, no spam, no viruses, malware or phising e-mails at all.
You will have to do this just once for this e-mail
address. For your convenience, reply to the last sender verification e-mail
that you have received.
Thank you and have a nice day.
spoof, etc.
Tendrás que hacer esto una sola
vez para esta dirección de e-mail. Para tu conveniencia responde al último
e-mail de verificación.
Gracias y que tengas un buen
día.

Processing
speed
Speed in processing greatly depends on Internet
connection speed and third party servers since when processing AllSpamAway
needs to send verification e-mails to all those addresses not in the lists.
Sometimes, a sender’s server might take its time to
respond also.
Maintenance
Other than adding some addresses to the Show or the
Away lists manually every once in a while, AllSpamAway requires no effort from
your part. Your senders will do most of the maintenance by replying to the
Verification E-mails.
Except for e-mail addresses added manually,
AllSpamAway automatically deletes e-mail addresses in the Away list that are
older that 30 days and those older than the days that you have set up when
starting Outlook. This procedure prevents the list from growing indefinitely.
Saving settings and lists for a
new installation
Export
the settings and lists from the current computer to a file.
1. Go to Sender’s Administration.
2. Click on the
icon
3. Write a name and save the file for future use when the
save window opens.
4. Install AllSpamAway.
5. When Outlook opens you will be prompted to setup the
accounts, click cancel.

Settings/Lists icon
.

it.
